Portal 8 - Dana Simion

“Portal 8” is part of the “Portals” series, a series started in January 2018 and completed in March, being a spontaneous and free gesture full of colour and freshness. For me it is a “tonic” series in which I “escaped” by introducing passages from landscapes into abstract structures.
In “Portal 8” I escaped to a park filled with Japanese cherry trees, in a nostalgic, romantic atmosphere, where a free bench invites the viewer to create his own story, to sit and meditate on the immortal beauty of nature, its generosity. Nature always protects us, relaxes us, helps us breathe better, soothes our spirit and body. Who could ever get bored of nature? I close my eyes and smell the miraculous and enchanting scent of flowers, gently moving my feet among the fragile fallen petals, careful not to crush them. Nature is a true miracle, it always comes and goes, without end.
The work is painted in acrylic colours, laid on the canvas by juxtaposing colour with a knife, brush or colour spread by hand or cloth.
